SUMMARY:Climate Change & Mental Health Connections
DESCRIPTION:Grappling with the reality of our changing climate\, and what climate change means for our communities and families\, is incredibly taxing work. Those working on the frontlines of climate and environmental justice often suffer from depression and anxiety\, while more frequent and severe storms can lead to panic attacks and PTSD in affected populations. Activists and vulnerable communities both deserve support in addressing the mental health aspects of being climate-informed and climate-impacted. That’s why\, on May 15th\, in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month\, NCIPL is hosting “Climate Change & Mental Health Connections: A Panel Discussion for the Wellbeing of Our Communities.” \nJoin NCIPL Program Coordinator\, Sarah Ogletree\, licensed mental health counselor\, Caleb Pusey\, PHW Associate Director\, Jessica Stokes\, and eco-chaplain\, Sarah Vekasi\, for a conversation regarding the mental health needs of our movement\, how congregations can support those feeling the weight of this work\, and how we can better cultivate spaces that honor grief while nourishing hope.  \nClick here to register. Once you have registered\, Zoom call details will be emailed to your inbox. Click here to view the Facebook event page and share within your networks.
