SUMMARY:Leading Trauma-Informed Programs and Ministries
DESCRIPTION:Join Crystal Imes and Annette Snider\, certified Connections Matter trainers with Prevent Child abuse NC\, for part two of their ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and trauma series. Participants will explore NETworX’s trauma-informed approaches to build authentic relationships across common divisions like wealth\, race\, and culture. Crystal and Annette will open a discussion with participants on how and where well-meaning but trauma-uninformed programs/ministries risk re-traumatization of participants. The session will close with a panel discussion focused on best practices and resources\, and participants will have the opportunity to formulate a plan for being a trauma-informed ministry/program. \nThis workshop requires prior training in ACEs/trauma or at least a basic understanding of ACEs/trauma. Interested participants are encouraged to consider attending the October 23\, 2020 training “Understanding ACEs and Trauma”(https://www.eventbrite.com/e/understanding-aces-and-trauma-tickets-121270215479) \nPlease contact Jaimie McGirt at jmcgirt@conservationfund.org if you have questions about attending.
