We are delighted to welcome Justin Hubbard and Scott Schomburg, the Council’s interns from Duke Divinity School for 2012-2013.
Justin received a Bachelor’s of Individualized Studies in Psychology, Sociology, and International Politics from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. After working for a few years at the Department of Veterans Affairs Benefits Administration, he moved to the Democratic Republic of Congo. There he assisted with the work of Congo Initiative-Université Chrétienne Bilingue Du Congo, a university committed to academic inquiry, student service, and community engagement.
Scott grew up in southern Ohio. He received a B.A. in Bible and Religion from Anderson University. Before coming to North Carolina, Scott worked with an HIV/AIDS advocacy group in Indiana, and since has worked with Duke’s Center for Reconciliation on the African Great Lakes Initiative.
Both are members of the Chapel Hill Mennonite Fellowship. They will be involved in various aspects of the Council’s work for prophetic social justice.
