Resources for Earth Sabbath Celebrations

May 30, 2013 by Allison Reeves Jolley, Former Outreach Coordinator - NCIPL

As summer heads our way, consider hosting an Earth Sabbath Celebration. NCIPL has recently added several new services to the Celebration Resource Page and encourages you to check them out. These services can be replicated or modified, so they provide a great resource for anyone looking to host a Celebration.

Both lay and ordained faith leaders lead these services on a regular basis, so don’t be intimidated by the notion of leading a service.

We now have 10 complete services online, including a special one focused on the Summer Solstice.

And as a reminder, these services occur on a monthly basis in Asheville, Durham, and Raleigh. Please check our calendar for the next service in your area. Should you choose to organize an Earth Sabbath Celebration and would like for NCIPL to promote it, please submit it as an event.

North Carolina Interfaith Power & Light (NCIPL) is a program of the North Carolina Council of Churches. NCIPL works with faith communities to address the causes and consequences of global climate change and promote practical, hope-filled responses through education, outreach, and public policy advocacy. Please visit our website for information on our current programs, campaigns, and events.
