Announcing Strive to Revive Maintenance Grants

December 21, 2015 by Shannon Axtell Martin, PHW Regional Coordinator

By Nicole Johnson, Strive to Revive Assistant

The Council is excited to announce our upcoming Strive to Revive Maintenance Grant Program. This program is focused on providing resources, financial assistance, and technical support to assist with the maintenance cost of the Automatic External Defibrillator your congregation received through Strive To Revive. It is our hope that this program will help your congregation develop and sustain its own AED program maintenance plan.

Resources will include an AED maintenance budget worksheet, links to equipment ownership manuals, educational videos, and options for your congregation to consider in making decisions about ordering replacement components, and scheduling CPR/AED training re-certification. Financial assistance will include a grant application and maintenance grant awards to assist in establishing a fund for maintenance costs.  Technical support will connect you with Partners in Health and Wholeness staff to provide assistance through this process.

To be eligible for a maintenance grant, congregations must have received an AED through Strive to Revive. There will be an online application available January 4, 2016. Additional information will be available on our website, by emailing strivetorevive@ncchurches.org, or calling 336-912-0976 beginning January 4.

We understand that maintenance costs may be a burden to congregations and are excited to continue our Strive to Revive partnership with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina to sponsor your initial AED maintenance and provide resources for your AED maintenance plan with the continued support of The American Red Cross.

About Shannon Axtell Martin, PHW Regional Coordinator

I get so excited about the many aspects of the faith and health, particularly the food and faith, movement. I am honored to be a part of it through the work of PHW. I love travelling, cooking, eating, writing and preaching. I am an aspiring gardener, artist, and half-marathoner. My deepest joys in life involve my 8th and 9th grade girls small group, wonderful family, dear friends, husband Robert and puppy Benny, and the amazing blessing of figuring out this journey of life together.
