Join community members for an insightful and informative workshop focused on fostering a welcoming environment for asylum seekers in eastern North Carolina and the Triangle area. During the workshop, you will hear witness stories and personal experiences that will help you gain a deeper understanding of how Triangle communities have embraced their diversity and strengths, as well as identify areas for improvement. With the guidance of Susan Krehbiel, Associate for Migration Ministries with the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance of the PCUSA, we will delve into ways to support asylum seekers. Through witness accounts, interactive discussions, and resource mapping, we will aim to become an informed, motivated, and mobilized community that warmly welcomes asylum seekers.
This event is sponsored by New Hope Presbytery Peacemaking Network. The North Carolina Council of Churches is a co-sponsor of this event.
