| Due to the extreme heat forecast, Sierra Club has canceled today’s rally against Senate Bill 266. This dangerous weather is a stark reminder of the climate crisis, which SB 266 would only worsen.
This bill is bad news for our state. It undermines our 2030 carbon goals by letting Duke Energy break its promise to cut carbon emissions, accelerating the very climate impacts we’re experiencing. Governor Josh Stein has wisely vetoed SB 266. Now, we need our NC legislators to uphold his veto and protect our state from this harmful bill.
