Healthcare Justice

The Council has long been an advocate for healthcare for all. We work to educate the general public about the benefits of universal healthcare and medicare for all and mobilize them to work with legislators to make it happen. We hope to further the goal of affordable, accessible healthcare for everyone based on the premise that healthcare is a human right.

Overview

The Council has worked on healthcare issues for decades. A policy statement in 1992 outlined how healing and health have always been included in the mission of the church. As followers of the Gospel and the commandments, we must lead the effort to extend life-saving care for all in our communities.

Ways to Take Action

Join the Faith Health Caucus

  • Leadership Team –  involved in plans and decision-making for the direction, pursuits, and programming for the Faith Health Caucus (FHC); requires at least twice-monthly meetings; consists of from 7-15+ persons.
  • General Support Membership – participate in organizational movements of the Leadership Team across the state in reference to building a movement to promote and advocate for Expanded and Improved Medicare for All in our state and nation.
