Last month I received an email from Deborah Arca Mooney, a writer and editor with Patheos.com, asking if I would be willing to write an essay for an upcoming series on the future of Mainline Protestantism. I was a bit intimidated by the short list of “prominent thinkers and writers” who were also being asked, and the idea of being considered among them.
Deborah asked me to write about social justice and mainline Protestants. In the end, I don’t know that it relates much more to Protestant churches than Catholic ones, but I wrote from my own context, and I enjoyed wrestling with the piece. If you would like to check it out, it is here. I hope you will find it worth your time.
