Faith and public life are deeply connected. The North Carolina Council of Churches’ Faithful Voter Guide and Companion Toolkit invite people of faith to explore what it means to live out their faith in the public sphere.
These nonpartisan resources are designed to help people move beyond simply asking who to vote for and create space to reflect on how our faith shapes the way we understand our communities, our neighbors, and our responsibility to one another.
Whether you are exploring these questions on your own, leading a conversation in your congregation, or organizing a small group, the Council’s resources give you a place to begin—and tools to go deeper.

The Faithful Voter Guide and Companion Toolkit were developed in a Christian context, but their approach can be adapted for other faith traditions. Our Multifaith Adaptation Guide offers a simple framework for making the resources your own without starting from scratch.

The Faithful Voter Guide provides the foundation for reflection. Through seven spheres of influence: Family, Education, Government, Media, Business, Arts & Entertainment, and Religion, the Guide invites people of faith to consider how their beliefs and values shape the way they engage public life.
Grounded in Scripture and the call to love God and love our neighbors, the Guide offers reflection, questions for discernment, and context on issues facing North Carolina.
