Partners in Health and Wholeness Training

January 3, 2011 by Willona Stallings, Former Program Coordinator – Partners in Health & Wholeness

Training for Clergy, PHW Liaisons and Health Professionals

Sponsored by the North Carolina Council of Churches

Date:

Saturday, January 29, 2011

Time:

10am – Noon

Location:

St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church

200 North James Street, Goldsboro 27530

Overview:

Are you a pastor or parishioner who is concerned about the health of God’s people?  Are you troubled when you read the names of congregants who are home-bound or have been hospitalized due to an illness in the weekly church bulletin?  Do you believe that our bodies are God’s temple and that we can improve our own health and, in the case of secondhand smoke, the health of others by being physically active, eating healthily and not using tobacco products?

If so, we would love to have you join us for an informational session/training on Partners in Health and Wholeness, an initiative of the North Carolina Council of Churches.  Our mission is to promote health as a practice of our faith – to illustrate God’s concern for all areas of our lives, including our physical health, and to empower people of faith to take action.

“Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, just as it is well with your soul” (3 John 2, NRSV).

About Willona Stallings, Former Program Coordinator – Partners in Health & Wholeness

Partners in Health and Wholeness (PHW) connects congregations with existing resources in the community and provides them with the tools necessary (sometimes in the form of mini-grants) to implement healthier practices, policies and programs. I live in Raleigh and enjoy good food, area greenways and bargain shopping.
