Talking about Immigration with Bishop Curry…

May 30, 2013 by chris

…and the Week of Action for Immigration Reform continues

I had the wonderful privilege of sitting down with Bishop Michael Curry (Episcopal Diocese of NC) to discuss this critical moment in the struggle for humane immigration reform. Millions of immigrant families are living in the shadows, afraid to drive to work or drop their children off at school. Here in North Carolina, thousands of children live with the constant fear that today could be the day that their parents don’t make it home. Immigrants are our brothers and sisters, and when one part of the Body of Christ suffers, we all suffer with it. That’s why it’s so crucial for faith communities to publicly support the US Senate’s immigration bill.

As we speak, Senators are listening to constituents, reading the polls, seeking political counsel – all deciding whether to vote for the bipartisan framework forged by the “Gang of Eight.” One of the most important things we can do is call the offices of Senator Richard Burr and Senator Kay Hagan to let them know that we support this bill and we expect them to do the same.

Please take a moment today to call: 888-891-3271.
