Share your Affordable Care Act Stories

January 24, 2014 by Lauren Chesson, Former MSW Intern

The Health Insurance Marketplace has been open for nearly four months now, which leads us to believe that there are some stories out there waiting to be told. The NC Council of Churches invites congregations and individuals to share stories about your experiences with the Affordable Care Act and the health insurance marketplace. We welcome all stories, whether they recount successes or challenges. We really want to know about your experience.

From churches, we are seeking testimonies that describe the work they are doing to educate their congregations about the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) and/or assist members with enrollment in a health insurance plan through the health insurance marketplace. We have constituents who are eager to learn from your experiences. If you are willing to share, please use this form, so that you will understand how we plan to use the information.

From individuals, we want to hear what experiences you have had with the new health care law and what actions you have taken to acquire health care coverage. Perhaps you successfully enrolled in a plan and found that the premium was more affordable than you anticipated, or maybe you did not have such success and are still without insurance. It does not matter if the experience is positive or negative, we want to hear. Please use the personal testimony form so that you will know how we intend to use the stories. We reserve the right to make minor changes, such as for spelling or grammar.

Please tell us about your experiences. We realize there are many different opinions about the Affordable Care Act. This is a venue to express how the Affordable Care Act has affected you or your congregation personally.

We also request that all testimonies be written in respectful language towards all parties involved.

We look forward to hearing from you.
