Are you interested in changing the way you eat? Maybe you were inspired by reading “Animal, Vegetable, Miracle,” are motivated by health challenges, or concerned about the strain our current food system puts on the environment and those who live in poverty. Healthy and sustainable eating is important for all of us.
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to sharing “ideas worth spreading.” This independently organized event, TEDxManhattan: Changing the Way we Eat, will feature a series of speakers on topics ranging from agricultural practices and human health, school lunches, local food distribution and the food movement. Chellie Pingree, a Congresswoman from the U.S. House of Representatives (Maine) will even be offering her insights on “Congress and a sustainable food system.” On Saturday, March 1, you can tune into the webcast of this event for free. The event begins at 10:30, and the last session begins at 4:20. For more information on the day’s schedule or to find a viewing party near you, visit the TEDxManhattan website.
