It’s not every day that the organization that you work with finds itself in the Acknowledgements of a newly published book. But that is the case in “WorldChanging 101” by David LaMotte, a co-worker at the North Carolina Council of Churches. David continues to work with the Council as our Peace Consultant and has recently published this book, subtitled “Challenging the Myth of Powerlessness.”
David is a man of music and of stories…great stories. In this book he weaves all of the stories of his journey together to illustrate that all choices make much more difference in the world than we may realize. He challenges the reader to get involved in “creating a world that is growing and healing rather than tearing itself apart, socially, physically, and politically.”
The book is filled with memorable quotes and pithy “Davidisms.” By the end, you will know David’s heart from the stories he shares, but you will also have insight into your own heart, your own strengths, and your own gifts. He makes a believer and a doer out of even the most apathetic reader. As he says “You are changing the world whether you like it or not.”
