The NC Council of Churches was recently awarded an eighteen-month grant to promote compassionate solutions, based on health and human dignity, to the opioid crisis in North Carolina.
This work will be conducted through the Partners in Health and Wholeness initiative of the Council, an established program partnering directly with congregations to improve the health of their congregants and communities.
Please join us in welcoming the program coordinator for this effort, Elizabeth Brewington. Elizabeth is a native North Carolinian, who spent most of her life in Greensboro before deciding to explore the Midwest for college. Elizabeth is a graduate of the College of Wooster in Ohio, where she received a dual Bachelor of Arts in sociology and religious studies. Most recently she has completed a year of service through the Episcopal Service Corps.
Elizabeth is excited to join the NC Council of Churches and is passionate in her commitment to the faith community. She will be reaching out to faith leaders across the state in the coming months. If you would like to connect with Elizabeth and learn more about the work being done for people who use drugs and their families, please email her at Elizabeth@ncchurches.org.
