A People’s Rally at the Capitol

On March 14-15, 2023, the North Carolina Supreme Court will rehear and likely re-decide two crucial voting rights victories in Harper v. Hall and Holmes v. Moore. These two cases — decided by the state Supreme Court just last year — struck down not only voter ID (proven to discriminate against Black voters) but also ruled partisan manipulation of our voting maps as unconstitutional for the first time in the history of the Old North State. Both were unequivocal victories for North Carolinians.
Now, urged on by Speaker Tim Moore and Senate Leader Phil Berger, the high court has decided to bring these cases up again for yet another hearing and, potentially, a new outcome. The only thing that’s changed? The state Supreme Court, which flipped partisan control after the November 2022 elections. Join us for a rally at the State Capitol next week.
