Anita Woodley, nationally renowned local performer and former producer of WUNC-FM The Story, will perform her one-woman show about breastfeeding and the health of women and children, “Mama Juggs.”
Anita’s show is a fiercely funny, powerful experience that incorporates true stories about real women. She works constantly in the community tackling food insecurities and health disparities in a non-traditional, theatrical way by creating programming for organizations and K-12 through the non-profit projects she’s co-founded: Grocers on Wheels and Raindownus.org. The Breastfeeding Collaborative is a project of Partners in Health and Wholeness, an Initiative of the NC Council of Churches. The Collaborative helps Wake County congregations to be breastfeeding-friendly by providing support, resources and mini-grants for creating comfortable spaces for women to breastfeed. The event is co-sponsored by Partners in Health and Wholeness, the NC Council of Churches and the Martin Street Baptist Church Health and Wellness Ministry. Free and open to the public. Refreshments and a Q & A will follow.
