The NC Council of Churches and Americans United for the Separation of Church and State will offer a series of workshops across NC this fall to help pastors, church leaders, and laity distinguish between politicking and issue advocacy. Besides helping our churches not lose their non-profit status, a primary goal of the workshops is to help participants identify the justice issues for their communities so that they can vote in ways that serve God and neighbor.
In Charlotte, the workshop takes place:
Thursday, September 22
Selwyn Presbyterian Church
2929 Selwyn Avenue, Charlotte
The workshops will run from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., including lunch. Bill Mefford, recently of the General Board of Church and Society of The United Methodist Church and now on the staff of Americans United, will help lead the workshops. To register, click here.
