This peaceful event organized by North Carolinians Against Gun Violence will be a great opportunity to reflect on the progress and losses of 2016, and reconnect with others who are passionate about reducing gun violence.
The list of speakers includes: Rev. Byron Wade, pastor of Davie St. Presbyterian Church of Raleigh and North Carolinians Against Gun Violence board member; Lee Storrow, Executive Director, North Carolina AIDS Action Network; Alton Lucas, gun violence survivor; and Imam Abdul Waheed, Duke University.
Along with the Council, organizations sponsoring the vigil include: Durham Committee on the Affairs of Black People, Durham Crisis Response Center, League of Women Voters – Orange, Chatham and Durham, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, MomsRising, NC Aids Action Network, NC Coalition Against Domestic Violence, NC Justice Center, Religious Coalition for a Nonviolent Durham, and Parents of Murdered Children.
