Public Education Advocacy Day Event Details

Teach-in: Advocating for Public Education in NC
Wednesday, May 16, 1-2 p.m.
First Baptist Church
99 North Salisbury Street, Raleigh

People of faith from across North Carolina are invited to come together to learn more about what is at stake with public education in our state. We will recommit ourselves to drawing near to our public schools with advocacy and support. Following this event you are invited to join the rally at Bicentennial Plaza at 3:00 p.m.

TIMELINE:

9:45 a.m.      Meet at NCAE Headquarters, 700 S. Salisbury Street.
10:00 a.m.     March for Students (from NCAE to Legislative Building, about 25 min).
10:45 a.m.     Enter Legislative Bldg and start assembling on 3rd Floor. This may take a little longer than usual with new metal detectors upon entry.
12:00 p.m.    General Assembly Convenes.
1:00 p.m.      Teach-in: Advocating for Public Education in NC (First Baptist Church, 99 North Salisbury Street).
2:00 p.m.     Meet with your representatives.
3:00 p.m.      Start assembling on Bicentennial Plaza across from the Legislative Building for Rally for Respect.
3:30 p.m.      Rally for Respect begins.
4:30 p.m.      Rally concludes.
