Those impacted by Hurricane Matthew in the eastern part of the state still want to vote, but the storm’s devastation has raised challenges.
For those looking for information about whether their polling place has been moved can visit the NC State Board of Elections website. For those who need information about voting and any changes to the laws, the website by our friends at Democracy NC is a good place to find out more. And there are options for those needing transportation to the polls.
The incredibly difficult circumstances being endured by our sisters and brothers remind us all how important it is to vote. By participating, we have a say in choosing leaders who are well-informed, thoughtful, and committed to the needs of all.
Timely information. Will likely try to help but notice that official election day, Tuesday, Nov. 8 is NOT on the list of volunteer options!! While I’m evaluating my schedule, can you clarify whether or not transport to polls will be offered for 11/8 or refer me to another source for that? Thanks
Hi Mr. McCollum,
Democracy NC is coordinating transportation to the polls. I would suggest giving them a call at 888-482-7353. If you are unable to get an answer, please call our office at 919-828-6501 so that we can help you make a contact in your specific county.
