Over the past few months, North Carolina Interfaith Power & Light has been a proud part of a coalition of nonprofits and businesses participating in a statewide ad campaign emphasizing the link between clean air, clean water and good jobs. The slogan for the campaign was “All Three for NC.” The ads can be viewed on the campaign website.
We are very excited about the most recent ad which ran in the Asheville Citizen-Times. Signed by 25 communities of faith and NCIPL, it reminds us that “we have been given this land, air and water in sacred trust” by God, and urges us to be faithful stewards.
In this election season, it is important to remember our responsibility to honor and care for the gift of creation and emphasize to our current elected officials and all those who wish to be elected that clean air, clean water and good jobs are forever linked. Caring for creation matters. If you are not yet registered to vote, please do so, and urge all your friends, neighbors and fellow congregants to vote on November 6.
